SMI’s all-metal process ensures very high mechanical strength, while providing a differential slip plane allowing for differences in thermal expansion between the target and the backing plate without debonding or cracking the target. In order to give your business superior service, SMI operates within a Free-Trade Zone, and has an international footprint with global strategic partners. Our 20k square-foot facility is equipped with an in-house C-Scan, a research and development lab, a machine shop for Silicon and backplates, sputtering systems, and more.
