Sputtering Materials Inc. is the one-stop shop for everything from research and development to backing plates, including: target materials, target bonding, inventory and reclaim programs, c-scan, and silicon machining. Every target that we bond is put through a proven series of quality-control procedures that ensure product reliably meets your needs. Our metallic bonds have a consistent bond-line thickness and no bond-line voids. Every target is professionally cleaned, carefully packaged in Cleanroom bags, and vacuum sealed in Argon gas to guarantee target assemblies are devoid of contamination.

At the heart of SMI’s bonding technology is technical expertise and years of proven success, coupled with an experienced and dedicated staff. This allows SMI to bond the most difficult materials in virtually any size configuration. We specialize in bonding materials such as silicon, graphite, ITO, alumina and other ceramics, metal alloys, and precious metals. Targets as large as 19” wide and by 84” long, 20” square, and 32” diameter, are all within our production capabilities.

Customer Inventory Programs At SMI, we offer a Customer Inventory Program that allows you to stock your products at our facility. Our program allows you to rapidly adapt to the changing production needs of your company by keeping a supply of your material on-hand. Using our Customer Purchase Contracts, you can further streamline your production by using material that we always have in stock at our facility.
